Since 2012, NewCo festivals have welcomed over 40,000 attendees into the offices of 2,000 innovative organizations. Attending a NewCo festival is a remarkable experience! It’s like a passport into the true culture of businesses changing the face of cities as diverse as Istanbul, Mexico City, New York, Austin, San Francisco, Barcelona, and Shanghai. Our "inside out" model is simple: Pick your city. Get your ticket. Choose which companies you want to explore.
Preterm and underweight babies who survive their first month can still suffer severe long-term health problems — diabetes, heart disease, developmental delay. Keeping them warm can help prevent those problems. Jane Chen, Embrace Innovations’ CEO and co-founder, tells NewCo that over the next few years the company wants to go from helping 200,000 babies across 14 countries in the developing world to helping a million. In order to do that, it’s counting on an assist from its consumer-facing product — Little Lotus.
NewCo talks with Pip Jamieson, founder of The Dots. The UK-based online network helps companies find talent, and gives creatives a place to post portfolios and find job opportunities from companies like MTV, Spotify, and others. “I really believe that creativity is a force for good,” Jamieson says. “Soon machines are going to drive, code, do our laundry … The last things humans are going to be good for is creativity. So, we help harness that community.”
“NewCo gave me and other attendees permission to ask questions about more than just how the business started and future objectives.”
“Refreshing, inspiring, collegial, and informative.”
“NewCo helped confirm that our mission is not only resonating with our internal stakeholders and customers, but also with outside general consumer, patients, providers.”
“I was very inspired by all the different business stories I heard. I've met some amazing people that I plan to hold onto!”
“We received many compliments from our session and as a result, people wanting to get involved with our program.”
“We had some great conversation during our session, people throwing out new ideas that we hadn't even thought of before! ”
“Subscribe and read the @NewCo daily. Definitely worth your time. Not an ad, just a fan. ”
“I really liked that there were both large and small, and old and new companies involved in this event. Really great energy!”
“I always tell people it is a city-wide innovation open house. Such a cool opportunity to meet many new innovative companies and people in one city.”
“I had a blast. It reinvigorated me, which I think might be a measurable outcome to consider . Sometimes we go to these events to remind us that what we are doing or pursuing makes sense.”
